I am an Electronics Engineer specializing in Industrial Instrumentation and Control. I
have work experience with Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS) used in the hydrocarbon
sector, actively participating in the development of Inspection, Testing, and Preventive
and Predictive Maintenance (IPMP) plans that ensure the reliable and safe operation of
the safety instrumented functions within a given SIS.
This work experience, gained through developing IPMP plans using RCM methodology
(following standards such as SAE JA1011, SAE JA1012, SAE J1739, ISO 14224, OREDA
database, among other industry standards), also extends to the instrumentation of
distributed control systems (DCS). Additionally, I have professional experience with
the instrumentation used in fire and gas systems, where the IPMP plan is developed
according to NFPA 25, NFPA 72 standards, among others.
I also have work experience in applying the RBI methodology (following standards such
as API 580, API 581, API 576, API 510, API 520, API 521, API 527, ASME I, ASME VIII,
among other industry standards) for developing IPMP plans for safety valves, relief
valves, and safety-relief valves, as well as other PRD-type protective devices.
As a senior member of the International Society of Automation (ISA), I have received,
through the Colombia section, in-depth training on technical standards IEC 61508 and
IEC 61511, which regulate the SIS lifecycle. Additionally, I have gained access to
technical standards ISA 18.1 and ISA 18.2, which regulate both the management of alarm
sequences used in industrial control systems and the lifecycle of these alarms.
Furthermore, I have carried out preventive and corrective maintenance of the
instrumentation necessary for the reliable and safe operation of gas compressors and
electricity generators (powered either by turbines or engines using natural gas as fuel).
I have also executed maintenance on the instrumentation of crude oil production wells,
water or gas injection wells, three-phase separators, steam boilers, industrial burners,
and other systems used in the oil industry.
For this, I have performed control loop diagnostics and instrumentation calibration using
EMERSON’s HART 475 and AMS TREX COMMUNICATOR field communicators, FLUKE’s 754 and 725
process calibrators, along with the 789 process meter and the 9144 dry block, also from
FLUKE.
Additionally, I have experience with specialized software, including SAP GUI for Windows
770, APM Predix, STUDIO 5000, TIA PORTAL V16, LOGO!Soft Comfort V8.2, ValveVue, AutoCAD
PID 2020, FluidSIM Pneumatics 4.5, Matlab 2020, NI LabVIEW 2020, Proteus 8 Professional,
DAQMaster, PACTware 4.1, Visual Studio Code, Apache NetBeans, among others.
Work Experience
Massy Energy - Senior Engineer O&M Strategy
Responsibilities: For projects associated with startup and commissioning tests of crude
oil and gas production wells, including water injection wells at the ECOPETROL Llanos
Management, I am developing IPMP (Inspection, Testing, and Predictive and Preventive
Maintenance) plans applicable to temperature, pressure, level, flow, and vibration
transmitters and switches, among other safety and control instruments or devices from
manufacturers like SIEMENS, ROSEMOUNT, YOKOGAWA, ENDRESS+HAUSER, HONEYWELL, MURPHY, ABB,
among others. To create the IPMP plans, I apply the RCM (Reliability-Centered
Maintenance) methodology, regulated by standards such as SAE JA1011, SAE JA1012, and
SAE J1739, using standards like ISO 14224 and ISA 5.1, along with the OREDA database,
among other industry standards, as inputs for analysis. Additionally, I am uploading the
RCM analysis produced for a specific project to General Electric’s APM Predix platform.
Massy Energy - Junior Engineer O&M Strategy
Responsibilities: For the Pressure Reduction projects of the Slug Catchers at CPF
Cusiana, Hydraulic Improvements, modification of the fuel gas supply to the compressors
of the Gas Injection Optimization System, and well YW12, IPMP (Inspection, Testing, and
Predictive and Preventive Maintenance) plans were developed for temperature, pressure,
level, flow, and vibration transmitters and switches from manufacturers such as SIEMENS,
ABB, ENDRESS+HAUSER, HONEYWELL, ROSEMOUNT, YOKOGAWA, MURPHY, as well as proportional
control valves and on-off control valves from manufacturers FISHER CONTROLS, SAMSON,
MASONEILAN DRESSER, BETTIS. Together with the fire protection system instrumentation
and safety valves, these are required for the reliable and safe operation of natural
gas turbines that drive the single-stage centrifugal compressors comprising the
boosting compression system, as well as for the operation of natural gas engines that
drive multistage reciprocating compressors, which make up the gas injection system at
CPF Cusiana. This includes the instrumentation of auxiliary equipment and other
equipment associated with Pressure Reduction operations of the Slug Catchers,
Optimization of the Gas Injection System, and operation of natural flow wells in
producer and/or injector mode, following standards such as ISA5.1 2022, ISO14224 2016,
OREDA 2010, NFPA25 2020, NFPA72 2022, API580, API581, among other documents required
for developing IPMPs and their corresponding registration in Excel templates (roadmaps,
extended texts, maintenance plans, and object lists) required to upload plans to the SAP
platform, including the necessary templates and data upload to the APM Predix platform.
OMIA + SKF Consortium - Instrumentation Technician
Responsibilities: Execution of major maintenance or overhaul of pressure, temperature,
level, flow, vibration, and speed transmitters and switches, as well as other
instrumentation (manufacturers ALTRONIC, ROSEMOUNT, YOKOGAWA, MURPHY, SIEMENS, among
others), along with proportional control valves, on-off control valves, safety valves,
relief and safety valves, gas pressure regulators, and air pressure regulators
(manufacturers FISHER CONTROLS, MASONEILAN DRESSER, ROBERT SHAW, ROTORK, BRAY,
CONSOLIDATED, FARRIS), required for the reliable and safe operation of turbocharged
internal combustion engines that use natural gas (manufacturers WAKESHA, SUPERIOR, and
CATERPILLAR), used in gas compressors and power generators. Control loop diagnostics and
instrumentation calibration, using EMERSON HART 475 and AMS TREX COMMUNICATOR field

Responsibilities: Execution of preventive and corrective maintenance on pressure,
temperature, level, flow, vibration, speed transmitters and switches, and other process
variables (manufacturers ROSEMOUNT, YOKOGAWA, MURPHY, SIEMENS, ALTRONIC), as well as
proportional control valves, on-off control valves, safety valves, relief and safety
valves, pressure and vacuum valves (manufacturers FISHER CONTROLS, MASONEILAN DRESSER,
ROBERT SHAW, ROTORK, BRAY, CONSOLIDATED, FARRIS). Conducting functional testing and
commissioning of turbocharged internal combustion engines using natural gas, from
brands like WAKESHA, SUPERIOR, and CATERPILLAR, used in gas compression and power
generation. Performing functional testing and commissioning of boilers and furnaces
that use industrial burners for steam generation, controlled by HONEYWELL BURNER
CONTROL SYSTEMS. Control loop diagnostics and instrumentation calibration using
EMERSON HART 475 and AMS TREX COMMUNICATOR field communicators, along with FLUKE 754
and FLUKE 725 process calibrators, FLUKE 789 process meter, and, for thermal processes,

Responsibilities: Planning and overseeing the assembly, wiring, connection, functional
testing, commissioning, pre-commissioning, and commissioning of pressure, temperature,
level, flow, and vibration transmitters and switches, as well as proportional control
valves, on-off control valves, safety valves, and relief and safety valves during the
assembly of STAP5 and URV plants at the ACACÍAS STATION of ECOPETROL S.A., for water
treatment and vapor recovery.
Menegua Consortium - Field Engineer
Responsibilities: Planning and overseeing the assembly, wiring, connection, functional
testing, commissioning, pre-commissioning, and commissioning of PLCs, VSDs, pressure,
temperature, level, flow, and vibration transmitters and switches, as well as
proportional control valves, on-off control valves, safety valves, and relief and
safety valves during the assembly of the BIOENERGY S.A. industrial complex, for the
production of anhydrous alcohol and electric energy from sugarcane. As a backup for the
Night Shift Coordinator Engineer, I performed the functions of Local Area Authority.
Andean Energy Solutions S.A.S. - Sonolog Technician
Responsibilities: Development of sonolog tests for measuring fluid levels and pressure
at the bottom of an oil production well, preventive and corrective maintenance of the
tools (hardware and software) used for testing, recording information, and drafting
daily reports sent to the production department.
